Blacktown International Sportspark’s AFL/Cricket Centre has fast become a hub for AFL in Western Sydney since opening in 2009.

Blacktown International Sportspark is also home to AFL in Western Sydney hosting a vast array of National, State and Regional events throughout the year.

The NAB Cup pre season completion has been a regular fixture at the Sportspark along with the  Under 16 & Under 18 National Championship.

Premiership AFL made its debut at the venue in 2012 with Blacktown International Sportspark hosting the GWS GIANTS and West Coast Eagles Blacktown City’s first ever premiership game.

Blacktown International Sportspark also hosted the 2011 AFL international Cup featuring men and women’s teams from the USA, Ireland, Canada, Great Britain, Fiji and New Zealand to name a few.

At a grass roots level, AFL continues to thrive at the Sportspark with Auskick Clinics, Junior AFL matches, School competition such as the IEC Cup, Paul Kelly Cup and Giants Cup and the State PSSA AFL Carnival.

CRICKET

Since opening in August 2009, Blacktown International Sportspark’s AFL/Cricket Centre has gone on to host a variety of national, state and regional cricket events and competitions which included the City’s first International Cricket Match between Sri Lanka and the RTA SpeedBlitz Blues in 2010.

The 2010/11 Cricket Season also saw first class cricket make its debut at Blacktown International Sportspark with the RTA SpeedBlitz Blues returning to the Park to take on XXXX Queensland Bulls in a four day Sheffield Shield match.

Other cricket highlights at the Park have included the NSW 2nd XI matches, Cricket Australia Futures League, Women’s National Cricket League and Women’s Under 15 national Championships.

Blacktown International Sportspark has also played host to the Women’s Under 18 City v Country and Women’s Under 15 National Championships and junior cricket competitions including the Milo Cup and Michael Clarke Twenty20 Competition games.

Blacktown International Sportspark is also the home of Cricket NSW’s elite and grass roots programs , Emerging Blues and Emerging Breakers with both the RTA SpeedBlitz Blues,  Lend Lease Breakers and KFC Big Bash team, the Sydney Thunder utilising the state of the art facility for training throughout the year.
