Blacktown City’s Mayor since September 2014, Councillor Bali MP is the current Chairman of the Blacktown Venue Management Ltd Board.

Blacktown City’s Mayor since September 2014, Councillor Bali was first elected to Council in March 2004. He was Deputy Mayor from 2009 to 2010.

Councillor Bali’s many contributions to Council include Chair of the Blacktown City Sports and Recreation Committee (2004 - 2012) and Coordinator of Blacktown City Games (2007 and 2011). He was responsible for reactivating local village festivals and the Blacktown City Running Festival, reopening Mount Druitt Swimming Centre and launching the Sporting City facilities rebuilding project.

A fellow of the Certified Practising Accountant (FCPA) with post graduate qualifications in commerce from the University of Western Sydney, Councillor Bali is a Fellow (F Fin) of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia (FINSIA). He was previously National Vice President (Hon) and NSW President of the Australian Workers Union (AWU).

Councillor Bali is patron of organisations such as Blacktown and Districts Soccer Football Association (BDSFA), Blacktown & District Historical Society, Blacktown Cricket Association, Doonside Hawkes Football Club, Doonside Junior Rugby League, Doonside Little Athletics, and the Prospect Historical Association, Blacktown City Swim Club, Minchinbury Jets Rugby League Club and Maori Wardens Australia.

Councillor Bali continually strives to improve the quality of life for Blacktown City residents and create opportunities for small businesses.
