Westlink M7 Blacktown Running Festival

Entries are now open for the Westlink M7 Blacktown Running Festival to be held on Sunday 31 July at the Blacktown International Sports Park AFL/Cricket precinct.

There is a race for everyone from professional athletes to families, and kids just having a go!

The traffic free marathon circuit makes it one the world’s most unique. The Marathon, Half Marathon, 10 km and 5 km events will be run on the Westlink M7 Shared Pathway and IAAF/AIMS Certified Accurate and member of AIMS (Association of International Marathons and Distance Races).

Registrations

Registrations for the 2022 Westlink M7 Running Festival will be open on 28 April at 10 am.

Online registrations will close at 5 pm on Saturday 30 July.

On the day registrations will be open from 6 am at the late registrations tent at the event. Card payments only. Registrations will be accepted for the 10 km Fun Run, 5 km Fun Run and the Kids Marathon.

Cost

Marathon: $80 per registration

Half Marathon: $60 per registration

10 km Fun Run: $30 per registration

5 km: $20 per registration

2 km Kids Marathon: $15 per registration

Race day entry

Only for the 10 km, 5 km and 2 km Kids Marathon

6.45 am Start of Marathon

7.15 am Start of Half Marathon

7.40 am Start of 10 km Run

8 am Start of 5 km Run

8.20 am Start of Kids Marathon 2 km

Race number collection

Participants who enter up until noon Wednesday 6 July 2022 will have their race number posted. These will be posted after 13 July. Entries received from after this time will have the option of collecting the race number from Blacktown City Council (62 Flushcombe Road) Blacktown NSW after a date to be confirmed or on race day from 5:30 am onwards.

Finisher rewards

Finisher’s will receive a medallion, Gift and certificate. There will also be discount vouchers from various supporters and sponsors

Overall 1st Place Male & Female: $3,500 each

Overall 2nd Place Male & Female: $2,300 each

Overall 3rd Place Male & Female: $1,500 each

Half Marathon

Overall 1st Place Male & Female: $1,300 each

Overall 2nd Place Male & Female: $850 each

Overall 3rd Place Male & Female: $550 each

10 km Fun run

Overall 1st Place Male & Female: $400 each

Overall 2nd Place Male & Female: 300 each

Overall 3rd Place Male & Female: $200 each

5 km Fun Run

Overall 1st Place Male & Female: $300 each

Overall 2nd Place Male & Female: $200 each

Overall 3rd Place Male & Female: $100 each

Kids Marathon

Vouchers will be given to the first place in each age category 3- 5 years, 5 - 7 years, 8 - 12 years and 13 - 15 years.

Course profile

All races are an out and back course. The Westlink M7 Shared Pathway is an undulating sealed course with mostly asphalt and concrete surfaces. All participants must keep left at all times unless overtaking.

Drink stations and Special drinks on course

Marathon: 13

Powerade and water supplied at each. Gels will be provided for Marathon and Half Marathon. Portable toilets are located on the course at each drink station.

Any special drinks for the marathon course are to be labelled and placed at the allocated collection point at the start line by 6.30am. Download the full special drinks list here.

Pacers

Pacers will be supplied for the following racers and times:

Marathon
3:00, 3:15, 3:30, 3:45, 4:00, 4:15, 4:30, 4:45, and 5 hours.

Half Marathon

1:25, 1:30, 1:35, 1:40, 1:45, 1:50, 1:55, 2:00, 2:05, and 2 hours 10 mins.

Parking

Free parking is available at the starting line, AFL Cricket/Precinct, Blacktown International Sportspark, Eastern Road, Rooty Hill.

Food and refreshments

Food and refreshments will be sold on the day within Blacktown International Sportspark.

Shared path closure

The Westlink M7 Shared Pathway will be closed to other users on race day from 3 am - noon. State Emergency Service’s from Blacktown, Fairfield and Liverpool will marshal each entry/exit point. St Johns Ambulance will marshal the full course on bicycles as well as at Blacktown International Sportspark.

42.195 km Marathon, 21.1 km Half Marathon, 10 km Fun Run, 5 km Fun Run and 2 km Kids Marathon.

Marathon and 10km

Southern Course on Westlink M7 Shared Pathway.

Half Marathon and 5km

Northern Course on Westlink M7 Shared Pathway.

Start Route for the 42.195 km/21.1 km/10 km and 5 km

Start on the AFL/Cricket field in front of grand stand and complete 450 m (Clockwise direction). Follow through gate and turn left. Follow path to Eastern Road and turn right on Eastern Road footpath, follow path towards entry to pathway. Right turn on the entry/exit ramp of Westlink M7 Shared Pathway.

Finish Route for the 42.195 km/21.1 km/10 km and 5 km

Exit on Eastern Road ramp from Westlink M7 Shared Pathway. Left turn onto Eastern Road. Follow footpath down to the AFL/Cricket field entrance and left turn through the gate C into the stadium. Complete 450 m of track to the finish! (anti-clockwise direction)

Kids Marathon (2 km)

The Kids Marathon is a series that is run at other events in Australia. Participants will complete 5 laps of the field. Participants will receive a medal, certificate, and a gift.
